The Dundas Art and Craft Association runs the Carnegie Gallery, a not-for-profit establishment committed to promoting Canadian art and artists, focusing on the Hamilton area and its visual arts. Residents who intended to fix the Carnegie Library ran into financial trouble, prompting them to organize a Craft Carnival in 1979. This group of artisans grew into the Dundas Art & Craft Association. The Dundas Art & Craft Association was incorporated in 1980 as a charity organization. It became the Carnegie Gallery when it moved into the former library. Local artists and artisans used the gallery to showcase and sell their works. The Carnegie Gallery's 40th-anniversary celebration has been remarkable. The organization thanks its members, friends, the City of Hamilton, and the Ontario Trillium Foundation for their support. Twenty thousand people visit the gallery annually. The gallery is a cultural icon in Dundas and attracts tourists. The gallery's success is due to its vibrant community and the role it has played in the growth and success of the Gallery’s Artist Members. The Carnegie Gallery has garnered high praise for its exceptional support of local artists, diverse exhibits, and charming atmosphere in the Dundas community of Canada. It has exemplary accessibility, with Gord and Kathy Bonds co-curating the creative cultural space effectively. Patrons like the panoramic listing, illustrations, and ample natural light in the gallery. Besides free entries, the gift shop and displays inside are enormous and well-curated, proving the connection to the historical library. Local artists have local artworks in the Carnegie Gallery, which earns it a top rating in Dundas. Many people have found exclusive gifts, and others have experienced exhibitions and bought gifts while recognizing local artists, making multiple visits so they highly recommend the venue.
