On the main campus, this environment allows the study and practice of art theory, history, and studio. The Department offers many strengths and excellent facilities. A first-rate facility that includes both large and small computer labs, printmaking and photography areas, a gallery, and open studio area. Furthermore, Art History classes are taught in lecture and seminar rooms with the latest technology. The Ivey Library is a digital resource centre equipped with the most advanced North American technologies. The Museum and Curatorial Studies degree offers students practical experience in curating and working with exciting cultural institutions. Studio, Art History and Museum, and Curatorial Studies are home to ambitious academics and artists in contemporary and historical art theory and practice, including Painting, Sculpture, and Media Studies. Department, Graduate, and Undergraduate Programs: The department also has strong extracurricular commitments. Each year, artists, curators, and historians from all over the nation are invited as part of Visiting Artists in the Art Now. The Speaker Series also includes the Leaders in the Field. Faculty members handle special projects and research that enrich the Department's life. The Department maintains close ties with the University's other departments (MIT, Film Studies, etc.) as well as the wider community (Museum London and Forest City Gallery).
