Amethyst Women's Addiction Centre

At Amethyst Women's Addiction Centre, we offer free addiction alternatives to anyone who identifies as female or gender-diverse in Ottawa. We are committed to supporting marginalized and diverse people. We believe that individuality is the key to understanding alcohol, gambling, and other drug addictions. As female-identified or transgender individuals, we believe the experience of addiction cannot be separated from gender identity and expression. Our philosophy emphasizes the direct relationship between inequality, violence, and problem gambling. At Amethyst, individual and group counselling is available. We are a bilingual service provider. Our aim is equality and justice. Amethyst is a unionized collection of like-minded people. It is a healthcare service that emphasizes prevention and direct services. We advocate for social change to support those most at risk for addiction in an unjust society. Our mission is to address the root causes of addiction and encourage people to leave it behind.
