For those who look to reviews before getting a tattoo, please read:
Tattoo artist: Hoch
Rule: Will only "show the design on the working day."
Recommendation: Find another artist.
I was paired with Hoch for my tattoo. We only did communication through
email. I submitted reference photos. I am traveling from the U.S., so
it's a big financial commitment to pay for airfare and several hotel stays and tattoo.
I was about to book my trip, but asked if I was able to see the design prior to the
first session for peace of mind and to make sure I liked it. Unfortunately, it
was their rule not to show until the first session. I even asked for a sketch, but they
did not provide or respond. They recommended me to find another artist because they didn't want to
work with me. That's fine if they want to lose business. So, I'm also recommending for you
to find another artist.
Unlike some, I care about what tattoo design I'm getting and I'm not paying
for a surprise/design I don't like.
Chronic Ink has other/more talented artists you can choose from who don't have that stupid
rule. If they all have that rule, then good luck!
Work with tattoo artists that will work with you. (Not Hoch!)
