ABOUT   Services Excellence Summary

The bilingual English-French Immersion school located on Saskatoon’s eastside, École College Park School, is focused on learning. The multicultural community of our school is our pride. It is our mission to make sure that every culture is respected and appreciated by all. In our diverse community, students get to know more about other cultures and their beliefs. Parents share their knowledge about their traditions, holidays, and culture with students so that we can all learn from each other. We believe that students who are literate, enthusiastic, and interested in reading will be better prepared for their life. We lead all Saskatoon Public Schools in library circulation statistics, with the most books per student or staff member. Since the start of the school year, we have borrowed 223,26 books from the library and other reading materials. Reading is a big part of the school's culture Ecole College Park School. The school also provides Book Scouts, Book Buddies, and Accelerated Reader, all of which encourage and support reading. These activities help Saskatoon Public Schools’ Literacy for Life program. Value concepts are essential to character education. Junior students help lead the school and set good examples. The Progressive Discipline Plan supports good behavior by encouraging students to make more positive choices and cultivating friendship skills. The Random Acts of Kindness Club for grades 3-4 allows students to practice kindness by performing kind gestures. For many years, the school has been partnering with Sherbrooke Nursing Homes. Small groups of students regularly mingle with senior citizens and socialize, helping the students learn about and make a positive difference in others' lives. Our students participate in many activities aimed at helping them become responsible citizens of their community and the larger city. We have been advocating for the poor globally for years. The school staff collaborates in programs designed to help students become aware of the differences around the world while creating a conducive learning environment. Every year we organize food drives for Saskatoon Food Bank and the Salvation Army. Our programs have helped in providing school supplies, raising funds, endangered species worldwide, and environmental solutions.
