ABOUT   Services Excellence Summary

About Liz Lane Gallery Liz Lane paints in her studio in Birmingham, Alabama, United States. She represents her mother Lorrie Lane. Chase, Liz’s husband, their children, and numerous pets enjoy the city's art scene. Schedule an appointment to visit our gallery to see various art pieces. Liz has a degree in fashion design from the University of Alabama. Her work is influenced by the abstract concepts she learned while working in fashion for a short period. Lane’s abstracts explore energy in people, objects, and movements. She avoids the standard linear narrative and believes that powerful stories can be told beyond that. Each piece reflects the time it was made, making it unique. Each brushstroke is a potent dance from Lane in which no rules are bound. Her work is layered with emotions, but the primary intention of her paintings is to be balanced and unified. Having two daughters has affected her work and perspective. She cares more about leaving a better world for them and future generations. Climate change needs immediate action, she believes. She has held fundraisers for organizations such as GASP and Waterkeeper Alliance at her studio. These organizations defend Alabama waterways and clean air. Liz is open to partnerships and thoughts from any organization that aims to serve and protect the next generations. We all have a responsibility to care for our planet and creatures. For future generations to enjoy a successful planet, change needs to occur today. She supports local arts and underprivileged communities. She provides art supplies to public school teachers who are struggling with reduced budgets. Budget restraints in public schools are an issue for art educators. This challenge makes it impossible for the students to get a comprehensive education. The arts are essential to humanity. A society that lacks art has no humanity. Liz, a female second-generation artist, has two daughters and sees the lack of resources and exposure women artists face. She has decided to include mainly women artists in the gallery. Liz chooses both male and female artists who exhibit strength through their femininity.
