Howland Studios Gallery Welcome! April Howland has been an art professional for over 20 years. After attending a fantastic art academy in Sedona Arizona, she studied fine art under several esteemed artists and instructors. Animals and nature are her inspiration for her work. April's first series was a wildlife collection, which became successful. She is now also known for her domestic animal portraits. Her art reflects her experiences both at home and on trips that she takes from Alaska to Africa. April's eye for design and composition combined with her passion for color, makes her art unique and rich. Her style, which blends realism with modernism, is quite distinct. Although April employs various materials, her process is consistent. April's artwork has been shown in several juried shows and galleries, including Santa Fe, New Mexico. Also, it has been featured in Phoenix Home and Garden and Images Magazine and Voyage Magazine, and on various TV news programs. She co-founded the Phoenix Zoo's “Art on the Wild Side,” which supports school kitchens in Africa. April serves collectors from all over the United States and beyond. She currently resides in Central Phoenix with a few rescue animals.
