Our Plant Stand of Arizona story starts in 1981 in California at the Swap Meet of Orange County. The business was launched when Eddie and Debbie Smith sold plants on a rental stall that later came to be referred to as The Plant Stand. The vibrant reputation of the Smiths for providing the highest quality plants began to grow. The Costa Mesa location was eventually established, with the Smiths later adding wholesale services. The 1989 story about Eddie and Debbie in The Orange County Register had a 94-year-old woman who came from an old farm, reminiscing that she had not seen such thriving plants since the 1940s. Eddie and Debbie sold everything in Costa Mesa in 1994 and relocated with their family to Phoenix. The Plant Stand of Arizona was officially established.
