ABOUT   Services Excellence Summary

Beth Hoge founded Danspace in 1979. She had the idea to make a ballet school that offered training that was not too strenuous for most people after her career as a professional dancer in New York. The school was set up to encourage adults of any age to learn classical ballet. The school taught adult ballet as well as pre-ballet to six-year-olds. Children's ballet and creative movements were added in 1980. Since 1985, the school is located in Rockridge of Oakland. Danspace offers a supportive and caring environment that respects the individual. Download our Beth brochure by clicking here. Danspace is the only Bay Area-based school inspired by Corvino's approach to teach clean classical technique, free from mannerisms, and focuses on music, artistry, and purity of line. The school also focuses on balance, coordination, and flexibility, which leads to greater strength, flexibility, and self-awareness. The passion of our staff is to teach this approach to ballet, jazz, creative movement, and modern dance. Danspace believes in multigenerational education through dance, with dance classes and workshops for students and older adults to move and collaborate and share the joy of dance. Danspace believes in educating children and inspiring them to reach their potential in an environment that values their individuality. They can build self-worth and enjoy moving through space and learning to master the world around them. Danspace is not about turning young dancers into professionals. Instead, it is about helping young dancers to believe in themselves and to be empowered and to know their worth. Danspace wants to share the message that dance is for everyone, regardless of age, size, and shape. Adults can learn movement principles based on Corvino's approach and appreciate their practice through deep compositions and integration. Adult beginners may start at any time.

SUMMARY   Reviews Summary

Danspace is surely a delight for its students as they have fun at this centrally located dance studio, led by friendly instructors who are particularly attentive to correct movements, aimed at enhanced learning. This review also praises Lisa, who is excellent at teaching young children music and dance. The general atmosphere is excellent for parents and children because nearly everyone is kind and often finds time to teach or learn something, with parents and nannies feeling welcome as they participate actively in their children's social lives. I conclude that this centrally located course is the center of the review paths for the user, as both the adult courses and children courses are relevant, and all corporate events are under one roof as a centre. Also, this class is a family routine for my daughter and me, and we do appreciate it. I would recommend.
