Graham Lustig has been Oakland Ballet Company's Artistic and Executive Director since 2010. The Isadora Duncan-award-winning dance company includes a professional performing group, a comprehensive and successful education program, and the Oakland Ballet Summer Intensive. Our scope of vision goes far beyond our name. While we are not confined to Oakland, we do cover a significant portion of the East Bay. OBC programs have a foundation in classical ballet but also include other dance forms and music genres. OBC also collaborates with local musicians, visual artists, and other artists. Oakland Ballet Company's professional performance company reaches out to many diverse community members through newly created performances and creative collaborations. The themes typically relate to the diverse population of the East Bay. DISCOVER DANCE! Over 15,000 students and teachers each year have access to dance performances and art education through OBC's Discover Dance program. For families that benefit from Discover Dance, the program is free or very inexpensive. The Discover Dance program includes school assemblies, in-theatre performance, free or donated tickets, scholarships for the Summer Intensive, and You Can Dance! residencies. SUMMER INTENSIVE The Summer Intensive is a comprehensive dance and arts education program for students aged 8-17. The program is designed for students who want to take their training to the next level. The program's main focus is offering classical ballet training and the opportunity to grow as an artist through dancing. Many classes also help you build confidence and increase your self-esteem in a loving and fun environment.
