About Associated Technical College Associated Technical College San Diego, a Los Angeles branch of Associated Technical College, was founded in 1984. In July 1988, the College was granted "Free Standing" status by the Accrediting Committee for Trade and Technical Schools. The College has since been recognized as an Accrediting Commissioner of Career Schools and Colleges. The parent school, Career Academy, was founded in Hollywood, California, in 1967. The National Institute of Arts and Science acquired the parent school in 1969. The parent school was sold to the Associated Technical Colleges of California in 1973. The Diversified Education Company acquired it and established a Division on January 1, 1975. Our mission is to provide performance-based training that can equip individuals with the abilities required to succeed in long-term professions. Our programs are created to place you in the employment market rapidly. Convenient class hours with either Afternoon or Morning classes enable you to continue working while learning. Our highly skilled teachers are committed to offering practical, hands-on training in well-paying professions.
