Little People Preschool and T K were started by Galina Cherkas, an early childhood educator and mother of three. She had a dream to establish a preschool where young children could learn at their own pace and experience joy as they grow. This would prepare them to step confidently into Kindergarten with the tools needed to succeed in school, in life, and in all aspects of living. Little People education is a labor of love. Teachers are mentors and partners who are well-prepared for the physical classroom. Children use all of their senses as they discover and learn in an engaging, hands-on environment. Little People offers children many hands-on opportunities in six domains for self-development. Every child has different sensory, motor, cognitive, language, social-emotional, and self-care skill sets. The teacher's first job is to discover what the child already knows by observing their interactions and explorations. Teachers then use careful observation to create rich learning environments for the children and give them learning experiences designed for each child. Graduates of our program will be able to talk well and will use oral language effectively to read and write. Children will have a strong understanding of numbers and their properties and will function autonomously in daily life and with empathy in groups. Children will also be perceptive, observant and able to solve minor problems. Kids will be creative and have a profound appreciation for the natural world. Our program will ensure that children have a rich childhood, are knowledgeable, skilled, and passionate about learning when they enter kindergarten. -
