Scarfone/Hartley Gallery serves as an extension of the classroom in a meaningful manner. Here, students can view and engage with significant artworks from regional, national, and international artists. The Gallery also provides opportunities for students to see and discuss the artworks during scheduled receptions, lectures, and performances. The Gallery often features artworks from College of Arts and Letters (CAL) alumni and faculty. Meridian Scholar Program (formerly STUDIO-f) combines artists with scholars. The Program invites scholars and artists to a 10-day residency with UT undergraduate and graduate students. During their stay, artists and scholars collaborate to create a print-based project. The Meridian Scholar Program is an atelier. This is a multi-disciplinary workshop where scholars and artists can explore technology, materials, and processes. This course allows students to earn UT credit. This unique program combines scholarly research and applied technology and materials. This program actively connects students with national and international artists. This residency program is often paired with an exhibition at our Scarfone/Hartley Gallery.
