Marian University Indianapolis

Marian University Indianapolis envisions the institution as a transformative leader, offering a quality education that prepares students to serve the world. Sister Theresa Hackelmeier, a Sister of St. Francis of Oldenburg who opened a school at Oldenburg in Indiana in 1851, is the inspiration behind the institution. In 1936, the college was established in Oldenburg and then moved to Indianapolis in 373. Marian College became Marian University on July 1, 2009.
