In 2004, the Center for Arts Education was established to provide cultural experiences for Oldham County students and their community. The center is a progressive venue for arts education. Within the Arts Center are the Oldham County Resource Center, School For The Arts and Performance Series. Many community arts groups, artist residencies and other partnerships are housed at the Arts Center. These facilities provide a center for instruction and specialized training that capitalizes on Oldham County's abundance of knowledge and talent. Arts Center's Performance Hall and Music Studios, Dance Studios and Art Studio have their pulse on the arts. In these spaces, Oldham County art students, community artists, teachers, and others interact to create artwork. The School for the Arts is brimming with activity as soon as it opens at 7 am. All of the course offerings are accredited through the school district. Arts Academy for Kids provides community classes for children and adults in dance, music and theatre. There are numerous concerts and activities throughout the year, including the well-known Performance Series research series. A variety of regional jazz, classical and pop artists, as well as dance troupes and actors from theatres, are featured. The series is a rare opportunity for art lovers in Oldham County and Greater Louisville to see world-class entertainment in an informal and comfortable setting. The Anita Davis Art Gallery is a way for community members to appreciate regional art.
