How Spokes Was Born Spokes' tale started precisely as you'd predict. The concept for Spokes was hatched over bike rides and beer with friends. Caffeine, beer, and comfort food—three words that make us happy. The foundation of the first Washington Street restaurant in 2017 was the product of the first sentence. Local businesses, the bike community, and residents all greeted the space enthusiastically. Breakfast, lunch, and coffee can only be found here (did we mention the breakfast burritos?). We've been through a lot of peaks and valleys (Covid, opening two bike shops within a half-mile, chances for us to take our food to other KC areas, and building a catering company). Spokes has a 100% local approach. Spokes is 100% local. The bike shop has closed (recall the two neighboring bike shops that sprang up overnight?), and we're just getting started. Stop by and have some coffee if you're in town or introduce yourself on your first visit to the area.
