aTrek Dance Collective

Leverage, aTrek Dance Collective, located in St. Louis' Cherokee Street neighborhood, is a dance company that provides disadvantaged groups with diverse and inventive opportunities to participate in dancing and enjoy unique experiences. LVDT's mission is to enhance the local arts by offering public dance performances in St. Louis. The company aims to raise awareness of dance's artistic and community-building potential. ON-SITE, our most ambitious and high-impact project, brings dance to public spaces where people live and work. This program will reach out to the poor, housebound, physically challenged, and economically marginalized who cannot afford to engage in the arts. However, many people find themselves in Cherokee St. for several reasons, including visiting the area for street festivals, arts, and other events unique to rural Midwest counties. The company, being the only professional dance company in the region, targets to promote it as a destination for immersive dance performances. Our company is structured to accommodate both emerging artists and more experienced dancers who want to participate but cannot commit themselves to full-time professional careers.
