MARC STRAUS Gallery

MARC STRAUS Gallery started in 2011 with a focus on contemporary art in the Lower East Side region of New York. It is based in a unique four-story building along Grand Street. The gallery features 26 international artists and supports their development, occasionally showing artists that were not appreciated decades ago. This element of discovery and rediscovery makes MARC STRAUS among the world's leading contemporary art galleries in New York. In June 2014, FlashArt included FlashArt in its list of the TOP 100 galleries globally. The New York Times and Wall Street Journal have reviewed and criticized the gallery's shows. Artworks by artists at MARC STRAUS Gallery have been purchased by The Metropolitan Museum of Art, The National Gallery of Canada, Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art, The Smithsonian Institute, Museum of Fine Arts Boston, Museum of Modern Art New York, The Guggenheim, Tate Gallery London, Musee Centre George Pompidou Paris, Whitney Museum of American Art, The Prospect New Orleans, and the Venice and Prague Biennials and Site Santa Fe. The gallery also participates in international art fairs in Europe and Asia to broaden its horizons.
