Shelly Svonavec, founder of Svona Studio, is a local Cleveland artist who creates mixed-media pieces and fine art, which is loosely inspired by nature. Her creations have expanded into painting, but she is still partial to mixed media. Shelly Svonavec is a local Cleveland artist who creates fine art paintings, mixed media pieces, and murals that are loosely reminiscent of various nature elements. Her art has gone in a different direction since she began painting with acrylics, but her mixed media work remains true to her vision. She seeks to express joy and inspire viewers through her art & creative pursuits, which reflect her personal evolution and growth. She is also an educator. Her artistic experiences have shaped her teaching ideology. Shelly strives to reach out to youths via workshops that are multidisciplinary and intended for them to develop and be inspired through the creative process. She desires to make a lasting impact on each of her students. Shelly is a master teaching artist for Center for Arts-Inspired Learning. This non-profit organization enhances the arts in Cleveland’s neediest areas. Shelly has a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Bowling Green State University. After teaching professional visual arts in Charlotte, North Carolina, she moved to Cleveland, Ohio, in August 2017. Her creative career has exploded since then. Shelly hosts a Solo Exhibition at Beck Center, murals in Ohio City, and live paintings for Gordon Square Arts District and private collections.
