Frances has been living in Memphis Tennessee, USA, for twelve years. She began her career as an artist by photographing. She discarded her camera collection halfway through her Masters degree at Memphis College of Art and gradually transformed into the painter you see today. Frances said in an interview with Choose 901 that she has wanted to become an artist ever since cognitive thinking began. In an interview with Choose 901, Frances stated, "I've always wanted to be an artist since I had cognitive thought." All of us feel emotions that are difficult to describe. Although I don't think that everyone is an artistic person, I believe everyone has some sort of artistic tendency. Everyone wants to create. What comes from that is anyone's guess." Her art embodies the spirit of her through bright, bold colors, text and nude images. As an artist, painting has allowed me to be more spontaneous and work without any plan. The blank canvas is stared at until I see something crawling out. After I've made the first mark, I don't remember the entire process. To keep a record, I create time-lapse video of everything I do.
