Outdoors Inc. Bike Shop is a retail business that was founded in 1974 by Joe Royer and Lawrence Migliara. It was established with the paddling companies West Tennessee White Water Supply and South Central Canoe Base. The Company started as a local shop that sells paddling products. But, the shop evolved into a retail store that provides outdoor gear for enthusiasts. Joe and Lawrence were knowledgeable about paddling and racing at the start. They realized that outdoor enthusiasts needed high-performance outdoor gear in Memphis. In 1974, they opened the first store. Joe and Lawrence focused on selling performance paddle equipment in the first two years. In a Ranier Mountaineering School trip, Joe and Lawrence completed the training successfully. This experience gave them the inspiration to carry climbing gear and camping equipment in their store. They decided to rename the store to be “Outdoors Inc. From this development, the Company started to sell a wide variety of products, including ski gear and apparel. A few years later, unusual snowfall led to the introduction of ski equipment and clothing. We also sponsored the first Cross Country Ski race at Memphis' Audubon Park. Our outfitting services also expanded to include cycling products in the 1980s. Outdoors Inc. expanded into a warehouse in Memphis, TN and opened retail shops in Jackson and Jackson. Up to now, the Company is the sole West Tennessee Ski and Snowboard retailer. The Company has continued to supply Memphis and the Mid South with high-quality gear. The Company is committed to offering its customers quality gear to improve their adventures. The Company’s equipment is also environmentally friendly, characterized by aesthetics and durability. A high-quality product has a longer lifespan, and it is less harmful to the environment than a product that requires frequent replacement due to poor workmanship or low-quality materials.
