He wanted to spend more time with his five children. Although Russ enjoyed his job as general manager and the customers and experiences he encountered, he sought a job that would allow him more free time. In 1996, Russ opened Bankers Liquidation Outlet, a liquidation outlet for bank-owned cars, starting his independent business. The banks he managed new car dealerships for asked if he would like to sell their foreclosures, and Bankers Liquidation Outlet never looked back. Russ purchased the perfect location off of I35E in Denton and moved Bankers Liquidation Outlet there in 2003. In the summer of 2011, Russ Kulle's oldest son, Dan Kulle, began working for the family business and was ecstatic to join. In 2016, Dan Kulle took over the business, renaming it Bankers Autos. Although the dealership has a slightly altered name, the company's purpose remains the same: to provide GOOD CARS for GOOD PEOPLE. Bankers Autos is a continuation of Russ Kulle's legacy.
