John Bishop Fine Art

John Bishop, Houston artist. Born in Houston, he lived almost his entire adult life outside Texas. He has a bachelor's and master's degree from the University of Texas. John has been writing, painting, and taking pictures since his university years. He spent thirty years working as a librarian in New Mexico and Texas. John also worked in California, Mexico, New Zealand, and the Emirates. In 2016, with his life partner, he returned to Houston where they run their own creative company in fine art and publishing. I try to join, to link disparate elements into new language, stories that are archetypal and fresh. What I feel is what I paint, write, photograph, and create. My art is not history. It is a window into me, my feelings, and my symbols. I hope you recognize my story and your art will become mine.
