Called yesterday for a consultation, and the receptionist assured me that they would contact me soon. Called them again today and got "the regular scheduler," who responded rudely by saying, "well you mentioned WPS (women's protective services) and he doesn't have time for that." I called a third time in the afternoon to know if Mr. Ware will speak to me or should I put a bar complaint. She starts talking about areas of law, and I cut her off because she was boring and incorrect and then scoffed because I couldn't ask for the bar complaint because he didn't represent me. My experience with Travis Ware was an expensive mistake. I had to get a lawyer there in Lubbock, while I live about 1,200 miles away. That was the first thing I said to the office....
But they proceeded to routinely "forget" I live out of state, email after email asking me to come in and do something, them being unable to figure out how to operate zoom to send a link for an appointment (after $5,000 I still never met with the man face to face!), culminating in Mr. Ware telling me he had failed negotiations (for a parenting plan adjustment) and needed me to "be at court at 9am tomorrow morning".
When driving there takes roughly 20 hours...no planes land in Lubbock overnight....it was already 8:30 pm.
When I found this to be a little upsetting, he fired me. And kept most of the money.
If you are looking for someone to forget all the details of your case, take all your money to do nothing (all of that retainer, and the only thing he did in my case beside fail negotiations was file the paperwork to resign as my lawyer), and make your case take months extra needlessly, then go ahead and trust this lawyer with your time and money! If you want someone to actually be able to remember your details, present an effective argument, heck, even return an email in any kind of timely manner, go somewhere, ANYWHERE else.
