Customer feedback summary: The Meredith Law Office is a professional, compassionate and realistic attorney. I would definitely recommend her. I came to google reviews and used those to choose Lillian as an attorney so I want to share my experience. Lillian is a very nice person, but incompetent. She wasn't able to give answers about anything and hired an expert (another attorney) to tell her how to proceed. She hired that attorney to consult her and then sat down with me to tell me what he had said. That all cost me 900. She should have just said this is outside my scope and I would have gone to another attorney (where I eventually did go) that was only $25 an hour more than Lillian but actually saved me money by knowing things without needing their own expert attorney looking over them. Also, Lillian is a one woman show so you are billed for her work the entire time. If you go a little larger, paralegals and assistants and junior attorneys are used to make your overall bill actually cheaper. Also, in general she wasn't very organized. She would say she would call or email something and never followed through. I always had to follow up with her. She was my attorney for over 2 months and we literally didn't even get filed for divorce. But we spent a lot of money. She isn't the bulldog you hope to not need in the court room. Also, she said she would send emails weekly with your invoice to see what is being spent against your retainer. I didn't see any accounting until I was ready to stop working with her and even then I had to ask for the invoice multiple times. We will see if she refunds what is left of my retainer. Paid my retainer, PLUS the separate trial retainer she asked for ( she wanted in case it went to trial )at the beginning. Then 2 painful years later ( and only painful because of the way she handled my case ) ...... examples NO SHOWED TO A COURT HEARING WAS UP TO 1H 15 MINUTES LATE FOR ALL OTHER COURT HEARINGS FILED ALMOST ALL RESPONSES MINUTES BEFORE MIDNIGHT AND HAD ME ON THE PHONE TRYING TO HELP HER GET THE INFORMATION SHE NEEDED FROM ME AT THE LAST MINUTE INSTEAD OF BEING PROPERLY PREPARED AND TAKING CARE OF THINGS IN A TIMELY MANNER WENT MONTHS WITHOUT RETURNING MY PHONE CALLS OR TEXTS WHEN I WAS NEEDING HER HELP WITH THINGS THAT CAME UP WITH MY CASE ( WHICH I WAS STILL PAYING HER MONTHLY TO DO , I DON'T KNOW WHY THOUGH ) SHE ENDED UP ADDING ALMOST 9 MONTHS OF UNNECESSARY DELAYS TO MY CASE WITH HER LACK OF DESIRE TO WORK ON MY CASE ( WHICH SADLY I'M NOT THE ONLY ONE SHE HAS DONE THIS TO ). EVERYTIME WE HAD A APPOINTMENT SHE CANCELLED 99% OF THE TIME JUST A HOUR PRIOR TO THE APPOINTMENT FOR REASONS LIKE, SHE DIDN'T WAKE UP ON TIME , SHE DIDN'T HAVE A CAR , SHE FORGOT ABOUT OUR APPOINTMENT, OR WE COULD JUST TALK AT THE COURT HEARING . THESE ARE JUST A FEW OF THE EXCUSES I HEARD OVER THE YEARS . THE FEW TIMES SHE DIDN'T CANCEL SHE SPENT THE MAJORITY OF THE TIME TALKING ABOUT HER LIFE AND HER PROBLEMS. TRUTHFULLY DEALING WITH HER AND HER BEHAVIORS WERE MORE STRESSFUL THEN MY CASE WAS FOR ME TO DEAL WITH . SHE CALLED ME 5 DAYS BEFORE A COURT HEARING SAYING SHE WAS QUITTING MY CASE BECAUSE " OPPOSING COUNSEL WAS TO MEAN AND HARD TO WORK WITH " . AND LEFT ME HIGH AND DRY . AND WHEN I ASKED HER TO REFUND MY DEPOSITE I PAID HER FOR A TRIAL RETAINER ( WE NEVER WENT , BECAUSE SHE " NO SHOWED" TO A CRITICAL COURT DATE ) WHICH WE NEVER WENT TO TRIAL, SHE HAS REFUSED TO RETURN IT AND HAS STOLEN IT FROM ME . THIS IS SOMEONE THAT CAN'T BE TRUSTED TO HAVE YOUR BEST INTERESTS AT HEART.
