Shockoe Artspace

Shockoe Artspace provides a unique niche in Richmond’s lively arts culture, which is a large, community-funded, non-profit gallery. It was a labor of love for several years, and it was officially launched in 2016. SAS's purpose is to promote civic involvement by creating and understanding contemporary art. It will provide a lively venue for Richmond City that includes a wide range of students, young artists, professional and emerging artists from different local, regional, and international contexts. We intend to enhance Richmond's vibrant artistic culture through exhibitions and shows, artist lectures, open critiques, panels, and other public events.
