Thus, a Gallery Shop was created. I then opened my Anne's Painting & Photography Studio. After finishing the renovations, I launched my gallery in 2000 with the First Fridays Art Walk in Downtown Richmond. Several people with similar interests worked hard to transform 1708 Gallery’s monthly First Fridays events into an Art Walk for our community. When we decided to form a board of directors and a non profit, I was on the board the whole time. Through multiple chronic diseases & surgeries I was also a member of the Arts District Task Force that created our designation. It has been my passion and life's mission to create this Arts and Cultural District. Hope you enjoy our community as much as we do!
