Charley and Wendy met more than 30 years ago competing in UW gymnastics. They were both fitness enthusiasts, became close friends, and founded one of Madison’s most prestigious and successful gymnastics centers. They started Madtown Twisters in 1982. It was just one location, but over the years, they have come back to their roots in West Madison, where they have been teaching for the past 21 years. Their Parent-Child class is 45 minutes long and has a semi-structured format. It provides every child with a chance to learn a variety of movement concepts and skills in a safe and fun environment. There is a range of activities available, and each child is given the opportunity to raise their hands and interact socially. Some activities in the class include acquiring basic gymnastics, navigating through an obstacle course, jumping on trampolines, and hearing music. Moreover, climbing and jumping are popular choices. The class encourages social connections, helping children feel more comfortable with one another and with being in the presence of other children.
