Mon Sheong Foundation is Canada's oldest registered charity and focuses on serving Chinese communities. We are committed to promoting Chinese culture, history, philosophy, care for the elderly, and support for the young generation. Mon Sheong's Markham Senior Care Campus and the Markham Long-Term Care Centre are vital initiatives that aim to provide elderly care and community centres that cater to the diverse needs of the community within the Chinese cultural perspective. Mon Sheong Foundation has been providing charitable services to the Greater Toronto Area since 1964. Mon Sheong, which means Lord Mengchang, refers to a legendary figure who lived in China around 300 BC and represents a spirit of generosity. The name "Mon Sheong" was chosen to reflect the charitable mission of the foundation, which serves the needy and those who require help. The foundation offers numerous programs and services for seniors care, long-term care, community services, and volunteer opportunities at three separate Mon Sheong Chinese School campuses, a youth group, two community centres, and three independent living and seniors' apartment buildings. We have introduced many other initiatives throughout our history to maximize our impact and achieve our goals. Like all nonprofits, the Mon Sheong Foundation relies on donations to function. To continue serving the community effectively and achieving our charitable goals, we seek your support and donations. This is why we believe that "Sharing & Caring with You By Our Side"
