Regina School Division No. 4, the Crescents School (the fourth division in Saskatchewan), is Saskatchewan’s largest division, with over 24,500 students. It is a collection of 44 schools led by administrative expertise and serves on Treaty 4 Territory and the ancestral homeland of the Metis. Crescents School Strategic Plan looks to communicate the division’s goals, intentions, and aspirations. It is designed to target all students, irrespective of their ethnicity, abilities, aspirations, or circumstances. The noisy learners with intensive support and those whose first language is not English are included. This is to assure that First Nations learners as well as Metis, Inuit, and those attending the three Faith-based Associate Schools get equal opportunities. This targeted approach acknowledges the differences and values. These values resonate with our school division’s shared knowledge, understanding, and traditions. The classroom and the curriculum promote these values. The students feel that they are responsible for themselves and others, both in and out of the classroom. They are true to themselves and take into consideration what others have to say. This may involve activities such as progress reports with parents/caregivers and teachers or volunteering to collect food to donate to the local food bank. The division of schools that this school belongs to celebrates, recognizes, and accommodates a variety of religions.
