Welcome to the Birmingham Academy of Dance (B.A.D.)! We are so excited to have all our talented instructors this year. Each member of the team has a passion for students’ success that’s unmatched. The exceptional dance training and unique choreography they offer are unparalleled. At B.A.D., our instructors provide dynamic lessons in a supportive and inspirational environment. We are thrilled to introduce the 2020-2021 B.A.D. team.
What can you do to become a competitive dancer on this award-winning team? The first thing you need to do is to attend auditions, which are held in the first week of June. The auditions are open to dancers who are between the ages of 5 and 19. The competitive dancer at B.A.D. competes the entire school year and attends five dance competitions per year. They also attend three conventions.
B.A.D.’s Recital program is held in the first week of June. The school-year program is a full year but the summer program spans from the first week of June to the last week of July. Classes in the school-year program run from the first week of August to the last week of May in the new year. The school-year program gives you more than 100 options of classes in every genre and skill level, from beginner to pre-professional. The summer program is fun and free to choose. The classes are drop-in for you to choose from, which is even more flexible. There are weekly-themed dance camps on Tuesday mornings from 10 a.m to 12:00 p.m. This is fun for all children.
