Arizona Lutheran Retirement Center

Arizona Lutheran Retirement Community (ALRC) of Phoenix, Arizona, exists to serve senior members of the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod (WELS) who are poor or lack funds by providing low-income housing and other services at cut-rate costs. The original population consisted of 40 modest apartment properties, which were quickly filled, necessitating the construction of more. ALRC was made a non-profit organization in 1976. It is self-owned and run, and its operations are overseen by a Board of Directors consisting of WELS laymen and pastoral volunteers from a Federation of Arizona WELS churches in the Phoenix area. ALRC has a full-time manager who lives on-site to manage day-to-day activities, provide spiritual and practical help, and make sure each individual has a safe and comfortable home.
