Lura Turner Homes Inc. was established by Lura Ann Turner in 1965 after witnessing the demands for a “home” for individuals with developmental disabilities. The kids were transferred from The Arizona Children’s Colony to the neighborhood, yet most could not live alone or with their relatives. Today, Lura Turner Homes continues its dedication to care for people with disabilities through a family-orientation in its homes, optimistic and functional work ethic, and well-rounded recreational and cultural activities, as well as community inclusion. Thus, this shared vision has been realized with the eternal assistance of well-meaning persons, members of many organizations and service groups, and local businesses. This support has been an important contribution to the continuity and growth of Lura Turner Homes Inc. as it address distinct needs.
