ABOUT   Services Excellence Summary

After decades in corporate America as a marketing executive, I switched gears and became an attorney in 2015. It had always been my dream to go to law school, and I chose business law because I had seen firsthand how thorny legal issues could stop a business in its tracks. Whether you’re expanding your services, facing a challenging employment issue, or simply have a question about a business transaction, make me your first call. I represent companies of all sizes from sole proprietors to organizations with hundreds of employees. I will help you assess your legal risk and create a plan to ensure your company is protected today and tomorrow from those unforeseen misunderstandings that crop up with partners, clients, employees, or independent contractors. I ensure that all parties fully understand their obligations, I do it as quickly and inexpensively as possible, and I communicate in language everyone understands. It’s critical for any employer to stay compliant with current employment laws. To avoid violations, fines, and expensive disruptions, business owners must know the laws governing the hiring and managing of employees, which change every few years with new state and federal administrations and court decisions. I can help you navigate this continuously changing landscape by advising employers on company policies and practices, hiring and disciplinary procedures, and how to protect the company with effective confidentiality, non-competition, and non-solicitation agreements. With changing workplaces, it’s important to be on the same page with your employees and to be transparent regarding your expectations. Having clear policies regarding commission payments, driving company vehicles, social media use, and working remotely will help avoid misunderstandings and conflict. Employers must also know the numerous laws about workplace discrimination and harassment. I work with your management team to ensure each member is trained to foster a positive environment.
