Studio Joy

Studio Joy was a dream come true in 2014. We took the plunge when we found the perfect live/work area for our personal and collective goals. Located in the heart of Kansas City MO, Studio Joy was initially a repair store. My studio is Studio Joy in Kansas City, Missouri, USA. This place consists of artists, staff, and students who all have a passion for art. Workshops are tailored to help continue education in the field, with intuitive exploration and experimentation being a core focus. The staff are very professional and use their artistic voice to instruct. Current works are inspired by visual or modal pattern observation, color, flow, and generational/relational connection. The results are abstracts that reflect a conversation between the extrapolated meanings and observations in my subconscious. The search for meaning can be a change catalyst. A radical transformation was what Amanda Jolley underwent in her change from an accountant to an artist. Everyday data were the sources of her ideas, as she observed there were patterns complementing the connections and subconscious processing in the brain.
