Oral Surgery Institute of the Carolinas Feedback: 1. Everything was great from start to finish at my consultation. I felt like the staff and Dr. Durham allotted enough time to explain everything about the procedures, including why they are doing certain things, and that felt and still feels like they really care about me and the surgery outcome. I also appreciate that I could do the procedures the same day and got an estimate for both right there and then. I am very comfortable and confident in this team removing my wisdom teeth. 2. Amazing experience having all 4 wisdom teeth removed. Still on day 1 Dr McLennon and his staff were very professional and kind and made me feel comfortable! Definitely recommend 3. I have a medical condition around my neck and head that made me very nervous about having my teeth extracted. I have to say that Dr McLennon made me feel much better about it with his confidence, professionalism, and follow-through. That meant SO much to me, that I was heard and taken care of. I feel safe being taken care of, and so will the rest of my family in the future. 4. The best place around for Oral Surgery!! I had all 4 of my wisdom teeth removed recently and everyone from the front desk staff to Dr. Durham and his assistants took good care of me!! They were gentle with me and the procedure was a breeze and my recovery is going extremely well. I thank y’all for everything you do 5. Dr. Michael McLennon almost made me regret going to Mexico for the first half of my wisdom tooth extraction! The entire process was extremely informative; every question and request I had was met with an answer that was easy to understand. Most impressively, the second healing process was way smoother than the first. Just one day later, you could barely tell I’d had surgery—the extraction site was incredibly clean, and the swelling and pain were nonexistent. Dr. McLennon and his team did a great job! Update - I went to Mexico because it was substantially cheaper including my flight and hotel. I finished in the U.S. because my bottom teeth were too complicated to continue. I had my follow up surgery with Dr.McLennon the week after my Mexico trip 6. Dr. McClennon was my surgeon and he was Fantastic.Even though I'm still experiencing some pain on the left after 5 days it was still a great extraction. I recommend the office and surgeon for dental care. The front staff was kind, courteous and so professional. 7. They talk to you and make you feel very comfortable. I was in and out in no time with no issues. I, definitely, recommend this business! 8. The staff and Dr were nice and we appreciated them getting us in for the infection in my husband's tooth. But how can you not answer or have an after hours number THAT WORKS to get a response to problems after surgery? What kind of practice is completely unreachable after a surgery? The recording says to reach the Dr on call you leave a message but nothing, absolutely nothing happens. We are still waiting for a different antibiotic to be called in HOURS after we began trying to reach the after hours Dr on call. Be aware of this. Don't have surgery here without finding out how to contact someone for problems! I want someone I can reach for an emergency after surgery. I don't think we will be hearing back from this practice until they open on Monday morning ( if we hear back at all ) and 3 days will pass without an antibiotic for the infection. Edit on Sunday afternoon- Both Drs have reached out to my husband and apologized about our not being able to reach the Dr on call. We really appreciated this. It showed they really do care. 9. This was my first ever extraction, I was very nervous and overwhelmed with emotions, but the staff and surgeon were very very nice. The extraction was very quick and painless, I had no swelling or pain as I left the office. I’m on day 2 of recovery, everything seems to be going very well. I only have a little bit of soreness on the inside of my cheek but so far so good. They even sent me home with a goodie bag with everything I could possibly need. Picking this surgeon and his team was the best decision I ever made! 10. Dr. Durham was incredibly thorough during my consult. Excellent bed side manner. Brianna took the time to find information regarding my updated insurance plan and was so helpful and kind. Highly recommend this office! 11. If I could give it a half of a star I would I sat there for 4 hours and never got seen the lady at the front is rude and act like it's a problem if you ask if it's going to be much longer for you to wait smh they where playing in the office laughing at patience that was asking about wait time so unprofessional 12. I am 2 days post op and I have not been in pain. I was extremely nervous and my experience was great from the front desk to the back everyone was helpful and I felt really good. Dr.Mclennon made me feel very comfortable , awesome doctor!! Thank you guys so much for the comfort and experience. 13. I'm literally writing this review 5 mins after having 3 wisdom teeth extracted. When I say this was the most comfortable experience. To say the staff was amazing is truly an understatement. Dr.Mclennon is very professional and thorough. I appreciate them so much! 14. Had a biopsy completed in December. Another medical facility left a message to request my records and scan. Nothing was ever sent nor was anyone contacted on regards to the request. I called myself to have my records and scans sent. Two weeks later nothing still has been sent. You can call when it's necessary to get someones money but when a records request is put in its like it falls on deaf ears. Surgeons themselves are nice but this has gone on for too long. 15. After a horrific accident (a tractor trailer tire exploding in my husband’s face) my husband and I had been drug around in circles not knowing what to believe and not believe when it came to his injuries and proper treatment. Finally, we were able to have him seen by Dr. Durham for an honest opinion. That is exactly what we got! Dr. Durham is the best! He is so intelligent, friendly, and shows he actually cares about his patients! His bedside manner is phenomenal and he takes his time with his patients. Every question was answered and every treatment option explained. From the moment I first spoke with Daisy to schedule my husband’s appointment to leaving their practice I was highly impressed! Daisy and the office staff went above and beyond to accommodate our schedule and had my husband seen promptly! Dr. Durham’s assistant was phenomenal as well and made us feel very comfortable. Coming from the oral surgery field I was highly impressed with Dr. Durham and his staff!! I highly recommend this practice!! Care of this nature is hard to find!
