About ARTFUL Cleveland Creating affordable spaces to support artists in their mission to create, show, and sell their work, ARTFUL seeks to make inspiration and creativity accessible in our community. ARTFUL OHIO, INC. Mission “ARTFUL is a catalyst for change in the creative arts industries, creating an arts infrastructure of affordable 1. quality spaces for large numbers of artists to make a living; 2. access to resources and education; and 3. a way for our community to easily experience art in the making.” ARTFUL OHIO, INC. is a 501 (c) 3 organization that has grown consistently since it was founded in 2017. There are more artists in the Heights neighborhood, comprising Cleveland, Shaker, and University Heights than anywhere else in Greater Cleveland. Access to working studio space, on the other hand, is either unavailable or difficult to find. ARTFUL tackled the lack of this particular type of studio by signing a lease on the upper mezzanine of the building where Coventry PEACE is situated. Here, we converted the space to contain 24 working studios and a community flex space. And now, it is time to expand as we are in the Phase II stage of our project. Physical Spaces Most of our ARTFUL Studios are situated on the second floor of the Coventry Peace Building, which used to house Coventry elementary School. Every studio has one wall, a private entrance, and soaring skylights, with 24 different sizes from small to very large.
