Hill Dance Academy Theatre (HDAT)

Since 2007, HDAT has initiated and managed Ju.B.Lation. Spirit-Filled Feet is a pre-professional liturgical dance company that embodies the rich cultural and spiritual traditions of the Black Church. Ju.B.Lation is made up of select students by audition or invitation under the instruction of Ayisha Morgan-Lee. The dance company supplies pupils with performance chances and extends the reach of Black Dance around the city of Pittsburgh and nationally. Hill Dance Academy Theatre (HDAT) HDAT is a 501c3 non-profit organization in the heart of the Historic Hill District in Pittsburgh, founded by Ayisha M. Lee, Ed.D. in 2005. They offer professional training in concert dance and fitness for students aged 3 to 18, in addition to leadership, nutrition, and Black Dance tradition, history, culture, and aesthetics. HDAT organization is committed to training and empowering students as professional Black Dancers who want to make a big impact in the dance industry. HDAT company members participated in conventions and performed for master artists including Carmen de Lavallade for Misty Copeland, Debbie Allen, Ronald K. Brown Evidence Company (DCDC), Cleo Parker, Lauren Anderson, and Cleo Richardson. In addition, they collaborated with Kathy Smith and Desmond Richardson of the Dayton Contemporary Dance Company.

The Hill District's Arts Academy and Dance Theatre offers a fantastic environment and opportunity for creativity and exploration in a historic location. Reviews suggest that as a parent, you feel at ease and love seeing your child go through the different setups for dance and artistry. The space is a place to enjoy and visit. Shows and other activities are also a treasure. Some of these include children interacting with dance in a different way. Being a children's show, the feedback is excellent. And, the Academy is ready for many upcoming visitors. However, the existing feedback is excellent. An individual says the studio feels big. The Hill District's Arts Academy and Dance Theatre is recommended.
