Providence Ballet Inc.

Providence Ballet Inc. was founded in June 1995. A satellite school opened in East Greenwich in the summer of 98. On December 22, 2014, we relocated the school to the 500 Main Street School, East Greenwich, Rhode Island. Our two school locations are dedicated to high-quality technical education in a supportive environment. Our school has classes for children ages three and up to adults. This year-round school nurtures and challenges the individual pursuit of ballet technique. Creative Movement classes are provided for young dancers who want to learn more about music, improve their coordination, and explore movement. Ballet gives a strict technique that develops the correct fundamentals at each level. Ballet simply is the alembic that forges strength and encourages expression. Modern, Tap, and Jazz classes are offered for children aged seven and older. Our staff is made up of only qualified and experienced professionals, many of whom are still active performers. All of our teachers are highly qualified professionals who have spent years working with children and adults. Students come from all over the state for our classes and include residents of our neighborhood, South Providence. No student will be turned away due to their financial situation. We offer about five percent (5%) of all our classes for free each year to students who show a need. Our studio has given new life to a struggling but vibrant part of Providence. The studio is the conduit that sends students to the Providence Youth Ballet and the Providence Ballet Theatre. The students audition, practice, and perform in a real professional ballet.
