The two of us have always been passionate about nature and the outdoors. We enjoyed hunting, fishing, and attending outdoor industry events with our father, a former educator who became an entrepreneur. Our father taught us the importance of wild game, uncharted territories, and top-tier equipment. At the time, we were disappointed by the cooling equipment we had. Poorly built, the coolers would warp, snap, and burst after frequent usage. These cheaply manufactured, disposable coolers were a hassle: every year, we'd dump our coolers and hunt for new ones. This was frustrating, and we knew there had to be a better solution. Our journey began in 2006 when we co-founded YETI Coolers. The goal was to make a fridge you'd want to use every day if you had one, rather than just on weekends. The cooler had to hold the weight of outdoor enthusiasts and not be seen in low-cost department retailers. We wanted a gadget that could withstand all outdoor usage and abuse. A rugged and durable product was required. We agreed that the goods should be innovative and based on customer needs, real-world experience, and data analysis rather than market research. YETI goods are always available when you need them most, whether you're hiking in the Alaskan countryside or fly fishing for redfish on the Gulf Coast.
