Hartt Community Division Dance Department The Hartt School Community Division, the community extension of Hartt School, offers a vibrant, artistically nourishing environment for aspiring artists from preschool through adulthood. Our core commitment is to create the artist as a whole person through instruction, collaboration, performance, engagement, and creative exploration. HCD has received accreditation from the National Association of Schools of Music (NASM) and the National Association of Schools of Dance (NASD). This document acts as a welcome for each of the HCD community. This program intends to establish a strong foundation for succeeding in college or a professional dance career. All students are encouraged to take extra classes offered by the Youth Program. The Youth and Preparatory Divisions are significant benchmarks in the curriculum, much like primary, secondary, and high schools. Our target is to assist each student in reaching their highest level of success and mastery. We make every possible attempt to place the student at the appropriate level. Students progress at their own speed in the programs.
