About 38 years ago, Lisa Matias began dancing lessons with Helyn Flanagan when she was just 5. In her teenage years, Lisa started assisting Miss Helyn and was frequently requested to work as a student teacher at dance conventions. At the age of 15, she was chosen to travel to The United States and Europe as one of the “Caravan Kids”. While studying with her mentors Ann Reinking, Tommy Tune, Joe Lanteri Danny Hoctor Frank Hatchet, Liza Minelli performed with Lisa at the Liberty Weekend closing ceremony. In West Hartford, Connecticut, Lisa Matias Dance Centre has been offering excellent dance instructions for 38 years. The goal of the dance studio is on performance and technique. Students prosper in a non-competitive and constructive atmosphere. Classes are designed to support growth and personal growth. All dancers can achieve their potential in a welcoming and joyful atmosphere at our studio.
