Rhythm Gym was born out of necessity. It is Vancouver's newest fitness program for children aged 1-10 years. The gym combines the basics of gymnastics with the rhythmic gymnastics hand-held apparatus and adds dance, music and movement to make it more fun. Rhythm Gym, which was started by the mother-daughter team behind Adagio Rhythmic Academy and the Premiere Competitive Rhythmic Gymnastics Club of Vancouver, evolved naturally from their everyday work in building athletic athletes for the future. Through their role as mentors and coaches in rhythmic gymnastics, Adrienne Arnold and Megan Magid have inspired many Vancouver girls. This experienced group has created a program that emphasizes the developmental steps that lead to lifelong physical literacy. It combines the basics of gymnastics with active movement skills and the use of small apparatus. They also add the fun and energetic elements of rhythm-based movement and dancing with great music. RHYTHM Gym was founded by three people who all agreed that "Inspiring young children for a healthy, enjoyable future in which the idea of lifelong fitness comes naturally" was their goal.
